It seems to be a grid pushed until it starts arguing with itself. The diagonal hatching reads almost like aerial photography of city blocks, irrigation patterns, train tracks, something surveyed from above — but it's really just two simple systems of lines overlapping until they generate a third thing neither one intended. The whole process of my work with interference patterns in miniature: simple rules, complicated outcomes.
