Chevrons run against the horizontal grain, and where the patterns collide the surface shimmers into a moiré the eye can't settle. One dark band holds the low end, like a bass line under everything, while the warm registers move above it. Six paintings in, the series has its own memory — each rhythm laid over the residue of the last. Warm neutrals dominate here, sand and bone, with a single dark passage anchoring the composition the way a downbeat anchors a measure. The pattern never repeats exactly; it remembers, and varies.
